A Way Out
A Poem
You won't ever see her smile
She's looking for a way out
Coming home to a family
All she hears is screams and shouts
In a dark room she sits and thinks
Why is life so hard, hard as a brick
The pain is too much
The drugs no longer do the trick
No one notices her struggle
Everyday is the same
Parents are divorced
She takes the blame
At school she's a bully
Once bullied long ago
Taking it out on others
The only way she knows
One day she comes home
Once again all alone
In her dark room
She contemplates her life
In one hand she holds a knife
She thinks to herself "This life is too much"
She found a way out
Her wrists are cut
